The man who had a dream in 1963 was remembered 42 years later on Jan. 29 in Lipkin Theatre, where there were singing, dancing, acting and speeches among a diverse audience.

This was the fourth year for the production "Following theFootsteps of the Dream" in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Students from NCC's theatre program, directed by Ronald Henegan, and guest actors from Denise Alexander and Company recited writings from authors such as Maya Angelou and Brian Walker.

Dancers from the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts danced to the songs "Sweet in the Morning" and "Fire and Ice."

Voices rang throughout the night as the choir sang to "Gimme Yo' Han'" and "You Are the New Day." Solos were sung by Selena Schnauffer, who started off the song "Loving Shepherd of Thy Sheep" for the choir and Adam Bonanni ended it.

The crowd also participated during the evening when people stood up, joined hands and sang to "I Believe I Can Fly," sang by the Voices United Choir.

"The event was magnificent," said Prof. Sharon Gavin-Levy in an interview, "This is among the best we've had."

Gavin-Levy opened the evening, and speeches were given by NCC Vice Pres. Susan Kubik, who the introduced NCC Pres. Dr. Arthur L. Scott.

Scott delivered a speech on what Dr. King's reaction to the present would be - spiritual death and our nation being divided.

The night was then closed with remarks given by Executive Director of Lehigh University, Dr. Henry Odi.
