Twitter seems less useful and more ego-manical

Issue date: 4/13/09 Section: Blogs
Modern technology can be addictive.
It is also catching on, from IM, to Facebook, to text-messaging, many people, old and young, are catching onto the new technology fads.
One of these new tech fads is Twitter.
Twitter, introduced to the public in 2006, allows a combination of IM and Text messaging, where it can be set up to a customers cell phone, and people can either update it on their cell phone or their computers.
Friends and family can follow this person's daily routine by signing up for their twitter account. They will get their loved one's updates, otherwise known as Tweets, periodically, via text message, throughout the day to their phone.
Twitter also used by many people for networking purposes. Companies, churches, and other organizations have used twitter to meet and connect with others in the same fields, to share ideas and maybe leading to partnerships in the future.
There are a lot of positives to Twitter
There is, however, a slight. It may support and fuel an overinflated ego
Is there really a reason to let other people know what you're doing at random times of the day?
Is there really a need to let other people know your life's story, especially when they aren't friends or family, but just your "followers" on Twitter? People you don't even know have no good reason follow your daily path.
Stalkers probably love this.
Nothing against social networking, but it needs to be set up better, to only allow friends and people who actually know each other to follow one another on Twitter. Work forces can use this to communicate with those only in their fields.
And our president is on Twitter?
Why?
Because it's trendy?
Because there's nothing else for these people to do?
I'm all for communications, but, please,
There need to be more limits to technology..
We don't need to keep an eye on our friends 24-7.
They have their own lives, we have ours.
That shouldn't change.

"Because it's trendy?"
Yes, and beacause it helps to be more communicative, if you don't get it.

Okay so who else thinks that going green is a rackett that corrupt bureaucrats try to bring into our venerable college to exploit our fertile minds.
Stephen Hawking said going green is a waste of energy! lets put our minds and power toward getting off this old girl!
One more thing students, if they try and neutralize the internet and make it chinese commy. (Continued…)
